The first 10000 ton river sea direct ship "Innovation 5" successfully made its maiden voyage

The design and construction of the "Innovation 5" ship was developed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to promote the development of the green ship industry in the Yangtze River, as a demonstration project for promoting innovative development of green ships in the Yangtze River in Hubei Province. The ship was invested and built by Wuhan Chuangxin Jianghai Transport Co., Ltd., reviewed and inspected by China Classification Society Wuhan Branch. Wuhan Lihang Intelligent Ship Technology Co., Ltd. signed a contract and jointly designed with the Green Intelligent Jianghai Direct Ship and Cruise Yacht Research Center of Wuhan University of Technology. It adopts technologies such as profile optimization, efficient propulsion, and lightweight structure. The main engine of the ship uses dual electronic control and dual fuel (LNG/diesel) power systems, and ship steel plates, main mechanical and electrical equipment, etc. are purchased in bulk. As a result, it has obtained a 130M Three Gorges standard clean energy transport ship with lighter weight, less investment, larger load capacity, faster speed, and higher returns, and is classified as a "Green Ship-1" CCS classification symbol. The entire voyage of "Innovation 5" uses LNG power, saving fuel costs by about 23%, truly practicing the green development strategy of "gasification of the Yangtze River".

General Secretary pointed out that ensuring national food security is an eternal issue, and this string cannot be relaxed at any time. We must adhere to the national food security strategy of putting ourselves first, based on domestic production capacity, ensuring moderate imports, and technological support. Every year, China imports over 100 million tons of grain such as soybeans and corn from overseas, of which more than 30 million tons enter Zhoushan for transit to Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, and Sichuan. The traditional transportation method is to transfer from Zhoushan to the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and then transfer to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River through river boats. But this method has a long transportation cycle and a high rate of cargo damage. The "Innovation 5" ship, which runs directly from Zhoushan to Chongqing, not only creates the world's largest depth and tonnage of river sea direct routes, but also reduces the cost of goods transfer and capital occupation. Compared with the transfer transportation mode, it saves 20 days of transportation time and reduces losses by 3 ‰.

The historic breakthrough of "Innovation 5" has attracted great attention from all walks of life. More than 60 central, local and industrial mainstream media, including the Central People's Government website, CCTV TV, the national party media information public platform, Xinhua News Agency, Xinhua Network, Guangming Network, the PLA Daily, Traffic News, Yangtze River Shipping, China Ship Inspection Journal, China Water Transport News, Yangtze River Daily, Chongqing Daily, Zhoushan Daily, Zhejiang Satellite TV, Shanghai Oriental Satellite TV, Chongqing Satellite TV and so on, have carried out follow-up reports. CCTV has three channel columns to make different reports, of which CCTV News took 30 seconds to broadcast on May 9. The reprint and viewing volume of various short videos is even greater. We believe that with the successful maiden voyage of the "Innovation 5" ship Zhoushan to Chongqing Jianghai direct route, a new wave of Jianghai direct transportation will be triggered, driving the construction of various types of Jianghai direct ships, promoting the country's current action plan for large-scale equipment updates and technological upgrades, and supporting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
