The Solid Rubber Fender (Non-Floating Type) And The Sunken Rubber Fender

Compared with the solid rubber fender, the most sunken rubber fender floats on the water surface, and can be divided into inflatable rubber fenders and supplementary rubber fenders according to the differences of the internal buffer media. The inflatable rubber fender uses compressed air as the medium to shorten the air work in the process to consume collision energy. Buffering medium of the supplementary rubber fender is mainly closed-cell foamed material, such as foamed EVA, foamed polyurethane and foamed rubber, etc. The floating rubber fender is a relatively new type of fender equipment. Compared with the solid rubber fender, its main characteristics are large deformation, large energy absorption, small reaction, self-sinking, easy installation and so on.
It is usually used in ship to ship, ship to wharf barge, berthing and other places. Because of its self floating characteristics, it is also especially suitable for the installation of large ports at tidal levels. The supplementary rubber fender has the characteristics of no-guard and being life-long, and is more suitable for using in some situations, such as offshore drilling platform.
