Rubber Fender's Production Process and Scope of Use
1. Processing of inlay reinforcement plate
There are currently four main methods for steel plate-rubber bonding: rigid adhesive bonding, phosphorus sulfide direct bonding, isocyanate bonding, and commercial adhesive bonding. After comprehensively comparing the advantages and disadvantages, it is believed that although the isocyanate bonding method is unstable and harmful to the human body, its adhesive strength is high and it is more suitable for rubber fenders. Isocyanate bonding's process steps are as follows;
(1) The steel plate is first grit blasted, then pickled with dilute hydrochloric acid, and the surface oil is removed with acetone after drying. Sandblasted and acid-washed metal increases surface area and concentrates surface activity.
(2) The synthetic isocyanate adhesive was brushed onto the treated metal surface before 4 hours of vulcanization and left for 2 hours.
(3) A high hardness rubber cement is further coated on the adhesive coated surface to form an adhesion enhancing layer.
(4) Apply a high-hardness glue film with a thickness of about 8 mm to the surface to be adhered.
(5) Paste the high-rigid rubber and the molding glue to make a buffer film.
2. Molding
The molding is based on the rubber fender structure to reasonably paste the compounded film into a preform in a forming die. All kinds of film must be made into a certain shape according to the specification before forming, and the thickness of the outer layer of glue and the bottom layer of glue film should also be well controlled.
Due to the shrinkage, adding an excessive amount of rubber during preforming can make the product dense, which plays an important role in ensuring the dimensional accuracy of the product and improving the quality of the product.
When using a mold with a loose insert, pay attention to the positioning of the insert. For rubber fenders with inserts, besides the normal positioning tolerances of the inserts during mold design, care should be taken to ensure that the inserts are correctly positioned during molding.
3. Vulcanization
The rubber fender is a large-scale rubber product, and a larger vulcanization pressure should be used. The vulcanization pressure used in this work is 20 to 40 MPa, which is far greater than the vulcanization pressure of general rubber products. At the same time, due to the large thickness of the product, it is advisable to use a long time curing at low temperature, the temperature is controlled at 14O ~ 160 °C. The cure time is determined by the cure profile.
