In view of the recent problems with many new customers purchasing boat rubber fenders, the following suggestions are proposed when dismantling the existing marine rubber fenders and problems that are likely to arise during the installation process:
1. The first is the dismantling of the original damaged marine rubber fenders.
1) When the original rubber fender is removed, damage to the original structural parts should be avoided. If there is any damage, the concrete fender should be repaired again before installing the new fender.
2) Clean carefully the original embedded nuts on the rubber fenders. There should be no foreign matter or oil contamination that affects the installation. If the nut has been severely damaged, the nut must be repaired and disposed. The repair process is mainly carried out by remounting the bolts.
2. Install newly purchased boat rubber fenders.
1) Purchasing and installing boat rubber fenders in accordance with the requirements of design drawings and technical specifications. The material and structure of fenders and characteristics of energy absorption shall be certified by the manufacturer.
2) Before installing boat rubber fenders and gangways for ships, check the shape, size, material and performance of the fenders to ensure that they meet the requirements of the technical specifications and check whether the installation position and height of the embedded parts and embedded bolts are accurate.
3) During installation, the contact surface between the boat rubber fender and the wharf of the ship must be tight, the nuts fixing the fenders of the rubber are fully screwed, and the tops of the bolts are retracted into the fenders. The pre-buried depth of the bolts should meet the requirements of the drawings and manufacturer's instructions. Exposed iron parts must be rust-removed and then protected with anti-rust paint. Quality inspection of rubber fenders and gangways should also be carried out in accordance with relevant standards.
