Development Trend of World Rubber Fender Products
Maritime fender is installed on wharf or ship to absorb collision energy between ship and dock or ship when landing or mooring, and protect ship and wharf from damage.
Generally, oak fenders can be divided into three categories according to the structure: solid rubber fender (non floating), inflatable fender, foam fender. Solid rubber fender (non floating type) is an anti collision equipment for Wharf ships which has been used for a long time and has wide application. According to the force of rubber fender, it can be divided into shear type, rotary type and compression type. According to the structure of fender, the solid rubber fender can be divided into D, cone, drum type, fan-shaped, rectangular, cylindrical fender and so on.
Inflatable rubber fender uses compressed air as the medium and uses compressed air to do the work to consume the collision energy;
Foam filled fender is also called solid polyurethane fender, and its internal buffer medium is mainly closed cell foaming material, such as foaming EVA, foaming polyurethane and foaming rubber, etc.
Today, the pattern of world industrial production is still undergoing tremendous changes in the way that science and technology change the mode of productive forces. Maritime fender is widely used in downstream, and the technology has been mature, but as a common marine product, the future is less likely to be eliminated by the alternative industry. For the global maritime fender industry, the largest market share is led by several giants. The Trelleborg group holds 11.43% of the market share in 2016, is a marine fender industry leader, followed by Bridgestone and Sumitomo rubber. On the whole, the number of enterprises involved in the maritime fender industry is large, according to the downstream application areas, the price difference is huge.
In the next five years, the maritime fender products will still serve the rapid development of society with more advanced technology and wider application fields, and the competition in the industry will be more intense. In the future, the core competitiveness of the maritime fender manufacturers is still technology. Breaking the industry monopoly position of high-end products or occupying the market in specific application areas will be the top priority of the industry.
